On Monday June 25th, New Ventures was proud to partner with Lavelle Prep to hold a formal graduation ceremony for students of both schools.

A total of 73 students received their diplomas, 45 of then New Ventures graduates, while Robert Benston of the Allen C. Bentson Agencydelivered the commencement address, and our Valedictorian Victoria Spidella shared heartfelt speeches.

Spidella spoke to a crowd of hundreds thanking her family, especially her mother. She added, “Happy does not even begin to explain how I feel to be graduating on- time and as valedictorian. I look forward to attending college and pursuing a career in speech pathology … I changed my mind a couple times … New Ventures and the second chance this school gave me made my dream even more possible.”

New Ventures Principal Ronald Gorsky shared similar sentiments about second chances on this special occasion saying, “My favorite poet Maya Angelou said, ‘I’ve learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.’ New Ventures is a place where second chances are second nature.”

In fact, 45 “second chances” walked the stage and received their diplomas that day.
