On June 21st, New Ventures hosted it’s first student prom.
Held at the Old Bermuda Inn, the prom became a reality thanks to the hard work of employees Samantha DeLuca, Dana Affatigato and Samantha Rampulla. The team began working on the details of the event in late winter by scouting sites and exploring vendor possibilities.
Over seventy students gathered to dine, dance, and celebrate a year’s hard work coming to an end. For entertainment, a DJ from Hinrg provided energetic music that got the crowd excited and moving all night long.
In addition, students also performed an original song from the NV band, and a student-made photo montage, dedicated to all New Ventures staff set a nostalgic ambiance.
A special series of images dedicated to the remembrance of graduate Andrew Apfel, who tragically passed away in May, were displayed in memoriam.
Of the event, senior student Crystal Rose said, “The prom was a memorable night. I enjoyed dancing with the teachers, and getting to see them outside of the school. It was nice way to end off the school year before I graduate.”
Principal’s assistant Samantha Deluca added, “This event was worth every amount of energy that went into planning. Seeing the kids all dressed up, having a blast with one another and smiling all night long really showed us what New Ventures is all about.”
